So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern of following Posts Exam conducting by Delhi Police given hereunder :
- Inspector (Computer)
- Sub-Inspector (Computer)
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Radio Technician)
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Shorthand Reporter-Hindi)
- Head Constable (Store Clerk)
- Constable (Bugler)

Inspector (Computer) & Sub-Inspector (Computer)
Exam Pattern :
► The written test will be Objective as well as Descriptive Type.
► The question Paper consist of 200 marks.
► The Time Duration will be 03:00 hours (180 Minutes).
► All those candidates who will obtain minimum 50% marks in written test will only be programming test called for the practical test which will carry 90 marks.
Exam Syllabus : The written test will comprise of :
- Computer fundamentals
- Data structure
- Algorithm
- Programming in languages used by Delhi Police
- Concept of operating system
- Networking
- Database management
- Computer security tools and concepts
- Concepts of Internet communication.
Practical Programming Test :
Operating System, Report Writers. Languages and Databases : The practical test will be conducted only in operating systems, databases and languages being used in Delhi Police.
Languages presently in use in Delhi Police :
O.S. – Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, 2003/2008 and Desktop O.Ss e.g. Win
98, Win-XP, Win-VISTA etc.
Databases — Oracle 9i and log, MS SQL Server-8/2005 and MS Access 2003/2007.
Reports — Crystal and in built report writers of databases.
Languages/Front Ends — Visual Basic, ASP, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C++, C#(Sharp), Visual_FoxPro,_Oracle_Developer_etc.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Radio Technician)
Exam Pattern :
► The written test will be Multiple Choice/Objective Type.
► The question Paper consist of 100 marks.
► The Time Duration will be 02:00 hours (120 Minutes).
► Those candidates who secure 40% in written Test would be called for ‘Trade Test’.
Exam Syllabus : The written test will comprise of :
- Theory on Electronics and Telecommunication of Diploma standard (80 marks)
- General Knowledge (20 marks)
Trade Test :

The trade test shall comprise of identifying faults, analysis and repair of faults in the wireless communication equipments used in Delhi Police.

Specific faults will be introduced in a working set which to be repaired and made operational by the candidates.

Similarly, the candidates will be tested for repairing of power supply, public address system and various tests/measuring equipments.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Shorthand Reporter-Hindi) & Head Constable (Store Clerk)
Exam Pattern :
► The written test will be Multiple Choice/Objective Type.
► The question Paper consist of two parts of 100 marks.
► The Time Duration will be 01:30 hours (90 Minutes).
► Those candidates who come in within the range of merit list shall be called to take the Shorthand Test & Typing Test.
Exam Syllabus : The written test will comprise of :
General Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of Himachal Pradesh. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
Arithmetic : Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.
Reasoning : Focus on Venn Diagrams, Number Series, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, Statement & Conclusion type questions, arithmetic reasoning, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements.
Hindi : The questions will be asked from the topics such as Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms and Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement if Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Close Passage and Comprehension Passage.
Practical (Shorthand & Typing Test) :
SHORTHAND TEST :- The shorthand test shall carry maximum 25 marks. The dictation of Hindi Shorthand test will be of 05 minutes duration and the time allowed for transcription of Shorthand passage will be 45 minutes. Five percent (5%) of the mistakes of the total test dictated (400 words) at the time of the test are allowed to the candidates. If the mistakes are more than 5% i.e. above 20 mistakes, he/she is considered having failed in the test.
TYPING TEST :- The Hindi typing test on computer will be of 10 minutes duration and the test shall carry maximum 25 marks. The candidates will be allotted marks according to speed achieved in the typing test.
COMPUTER TEST :- The computer test will be tested on word-processing software (MS-Word etc.) which will be of qualifying nature. The candidates will be given 10 minutes time to format the typed passage in the same way as it is in the supplied hand-out and to print the passage in the printer. Out of the 10 marks for the formatting 20 features carrying 1/2 marks each, the candidates should secure atleast 06 marks to qualify.
Constable (Bugler) & Constable (Bandsman)
Exam Pattern :
► The written test will be Multiple Choice/Objective Type.
► The question Paper consist of two parts of 100 marks.
► The Time Duration will be 01:30 hours (90 Minutes).
► Those candidates who qualify the written Test would be called for ‘Trade Test’.
Exam Syllabus : The written test will comprise of :
- General Knowledge/Current Affairs
- Knowledge of musical instruments and musical theory.
Trade Test :
KNOWLEDGE OF MUSIC AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
i) The candidate should be proficient in western musical notations and possess a keen aural aptitude.
ii) The candidate should have knowledge of musical theory and should have actual practical skill on musical instruments.
iii) Candidates need to be proficient in String, Key-board, Woodwind and Percussion Instruments both of Western and Indian Origin.
Constable (Mounted)
Exam Pattern :
► The written test will be Multiple Choice/Objective Type.
► The question Paper consist of two parts of 100 marks.
► The Time Duration will be 01:30 hours (90 Minutes).
► Those candidates who qualify the written Test would be called for ‘Horse Riding Test’.
Exam Syllabus : The written test will comprise of :
- General Knowledge/Current Affairs. (60 marks)
- Knowledge about various breeds/equestrian sports events, diseases and upkeep of horse. (40 marks)
Horse Riding Ability Test : The test includes the following items:-
- Approaching a horse (05 marks)
- Saddling and Bridling (10 marks)
- Mount/dismount (05 marks)
- Walking (05 marks)
- Trot with stirrups (05 marks)
- Trot without stirrups (05 marks)
- Canter with stirrups (05 marks)
- Canter without stirrups (10 marks)
