DGLL Exam Syllabus 2014
Directorate General of Lighthouses & Lightships Kolkata henceforth mentioned as DGLL Kolkata will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of vacant posts of Lighthouse Attendant. Nowadays Competition Level become very high so Competitive Exams gets too tougher. Candidates facing critical problem of “What to prepare” and “How to prepare”. So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern for the posts of Lighthouse Attendant Exam conducting by DGLL Kolkata.
Written Test
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Lighthouse Attendant written Exam is as Follows :-
► There will be written test followed by Physical Efficiency Test and Interview.
► Written Exam will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The question paper will comprise of 100 marks.
Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Lighthouse Attendant written Exam is given below :-
General Intelligence : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.
General Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of India. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
Current Affairs : Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject.
General English/ Hindi : Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.
Elementary mathematics : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
Physical Efficiency Test
i) Climbing of 30 Mtr. High LH tower with a weight of 10 Kg. (5 Kg in both the hands) – Within
3 minute-100% marks
3-4 minutes-75% marks
4-5 minutes-50% marks
More than 5 minutes-0% marks
(relaxation of 1 minutes in each of above category shall be admissible for Female candidates)
ii) 50 Squat ups (uthakbaithak) –
In 80 seconds – 100% marks
In 90 seconds – 75% marks
In 100 seconds – 50% marks
More than 120 seconds – 0% marks
iii) 20 Push ups –
In 40 seconds – 100% marks
In 60 seconds – 75% marks
In 80 seconds – 50% marks
More than 80 seconds – 0% marks
