Selection Process:
- Written examination (Objective type) (Stage -I)
- English Typewriting (Stage -II)
- English Shorthand (Stage -III)
- Written Examination (Descriptive) (Stage -IV)
- Interview (Stage -V)
Stage – 1 Written Examination (Objective type)
Exam Pattern: The Exam Pattern Will be as Follows:
- The Exam Will be Objective Type.
- The paper will comprise 120 questions of one mark each.
- There shall be 25% negative marking for every wrong answer.
The subject wise bifurcation of questions shall be as follows:-

Note: Qualifying criteria for General Category will be 50% in each subject and 45% in case of Reserved Category (including PH and Ex – Servicemen candidates)
Exam Syllabus: The Exam Pattern Will be as Follows:
English: Literature, Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.
General Knowledge: History, Geography and Socio-Economic development of India. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
General Intelligence: Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture.
Stage – 2 English Typewriting Test
40 words per minute. The test would be of ten minutes duration and will be on computers.
The criterion of “characters with space” for calculating the typing speed will be adopted and total number of mistakes permissible would be 3% of the total words typed.
Stage – 3 English Shorthand Test
100 words per minute. The test will be in English language and of five minutes duration. Candidates will be required to transcribe the dictated passage on computers in 40 minutes.
3% (of the total words dictated) will be the permissible mistakes for qualifying the Exam.
Stage – 4 Written Examination (Descriptive)
Exam Pattern: The Exam Pattern Will be as Follows:
- The Exam Will be Descriptive Type.
- The paper will comprise 100 questions.
- The written examination will be of two hours duration

Stage – 5 Interview
Candidates who will be found successful will be called for Interview which would consist of 30 marks. Pass marks would be 50% for General Candidates and 45% for Reserved Categories.
