About GATE:
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science.
About Exam:
GATE is basically an examination of the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. GATE 2021 will be conducted for 27 subjects (also referred to as “papers”) and it would be distributed over 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th February 2021. The GATE examination centres are spread in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT).
About GATE Score:
- After the evaluation of the answers, the actual (raw) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered for computing the GATE Score.
- For multi-session papers (subjects), raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to Normalized marks for that particular subject.
- Thus, raw marks (for single session papers) or normalized marks (for multi-
session papers) will be used for computing the GATE Score, based on the qualifying marks.
About GATE Result:
GATE 2021 results will be announced on 22nd March 2021 and will be available on the GOAPS Website. GATE 2021 score is valid for THREE YEARS from the date of the announcement of the results. No information on the GATE 2021 score will be available after this period.

GATE Score Card:
After the declaration of results, GATE 2021 Scorecards of the qualified candidates can be downloaded free of cost between 26th March 2021 to 31st May 2021 from the GOAPS portal. It is highly recommended that a softcopy of the scorecard is safely stored by the candidate for all future uses.
In case, GATE qualified candidates require the soft copy of their GATE Scorecard after 31st May 2021 and till 31st December 2021, they MUST pay a fee of ₹500 (Rupees five hundred only) for obtaining the same. From 1st January 2022 onwards, NO scorecard will be issued by GATE authority for GATE 2021 qualified candidates.
There is NO provision for the issue of hard copies of the GATE Scorecard.
After GATE Result Process:
- Candidates who declare pass or attain the Cut off decided by GATE will be able to take Admission in M.Tech Courses in IIT, NITs OR They will be directly selected for Interviews in various PSU’s.
- GATE score Card will be valid for 3 Year. Candidates will get admission in M.Tech/ Selection in PSU based on Marks in Score Card.
