About HBTU University
Harcourt Butler Technical University Kanpur (popularly known as HBTU) is a government technical university located at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh in India. It is one of the oldest engineering institutes in the country and holds the ISO 9001:2000 certification. The HBTU was named after Sir Spencer Harcourt Butler, governor of the United Provinces in British India. HBTU is the mother institute of the National Sugar Institute (in 1936, then known as Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology). As of 1 September 2016, it was granted a university status and renamed Harcourt Butler Technical University under the HBTU Act, 2016 passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria for HBTU University
For B.Tech –
The candidate should have passed 12thstandard of U.P. Board or (10 + 2) Examination from any other board with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (55% in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics without grace in any of these subjects. In addition, candidate should have studied a minimum of five subjects (including the above three and English) in his / her qualifying examination. In addition, all other eligibility conditions for appearing in JEE (Mains) Examination shall be applicable to the candidates
For M.Tech –
A candidates shall be eligible for admission if he / she possess Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 or 4 years pattern of education in Mathematics / Statistics / Engineering / Technology or Bachelor in Computer Application with a minimum aggregate of60% marks (55% in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST category) from a University recognized by UGC. Admissions will be made on the basis of merit of NIMCET-2020.
Application Fees :-
A fee for General/ OBC is Rs. 22000/- (Rs. 2000/- as registration fee and Rs.20,000/-as counseling/admission fee) and Rs.14000/- for SC/ST (Rs. 2000/- as registration fee and Rs.12,000/-as counseling/admission fee) is to be paid during the Fee payment. Out of this, the Registration fee of Rs.2000/- is non-refundable. If a seat is allotted to a candidate, the remaining fee of Rs.20000/Rs.12000, as the case may be would be adjusted towards the university fee, else it would be returned.
How to Apply HBTU University
The Admission Of B.Tech. programs for the academic session 2020-21 in Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur are to be made through Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Mains) 2020 merit and For MCA Programs It also made through NIMCET.
