 Last date of submision of application forms for MTET 2021 is hereby extended. 

Notice Regarding Postponed Online Application Process

Applications are invited for Candidates who are citizens of India and who are permanent residents of Meghalaya, desirous of applying for appointment as Elementary School Teachers (Classes I to VIII) and for teachers appointed to teach Classes I to VIII after the NCTE Notification dated 23.08.2010 for applying the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test, (MTET) 2021.

About Meghalaya TET:

The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII. The test is mandatory for teaching jobs in Indian government schools. There are two papers: Paper 1, for teachers of Classes I to V, and Paper 2 for Classes VI to VIII. The TET is conducted both by the central government and the state governments of India. Most states conduct their own TET.

Age Limit:

  1. The candidate should not have crossed 32 years of age (relaxable up to 37 years in the case of SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates) as on the first day of the first month of the year in which the advertisement was made.
  2. In case of candidates already in government service, he/she should have first entered service within the age limit mentioned in Clause (i) above and he/she shall have to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned office/Department for applying & appearing for the examination.
  3. In respect of candidates employed in aided schools and contractual teachers, the age limit of 35 years (relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates) on the first day of the year as required, including those candidates employed in unaided schools, is hereby exempted.

Education Qualifications:

Classes I — V

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure), Regulations, 2002

OR

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 – year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)

OR

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

OR

A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August, 2010.

Classes VI — VIII

Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and I – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

OR

Graduation with at least 45% and I – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE (recognition norms & procedure), regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 – year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)

OR

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 – year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Se.Ed

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and I – year B.Ed (Special Education)

OR

A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23m August, 2010

Note:

  • Relaxation up to 5 % in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled.
  • Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education recognized by the NCTE only shall be considered. However, in case of D.Ed (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognised by the RCI only shall be considered.
