Odisha Police Constable Selection Will Be Done On the basis of an Online Exam, PMT & PET, Driving Test (Optional) & Medical Examination.

Written Examination (CBRE)

Exam Pattern :-

• The Exam will be of an Objective Type.
• The Time Duration Will Be Of 02 Hours.
• The Exam Will Have 01 Marks For Each right Answer & 100 marks In Total.
• There Will Be 100 questions In the Exam.
• There Will Be One Paper in one sitting.
• Objective type with MCQ. Each correct answer will carry 1 mark.
• There will be a negative marking at 0.25 marks for each wrong/incorrect answer.
• The medium of written examination shall be in English except for the questions in Odia language

Odisha Police Constable Exam Syllabus :-

English Language:

It will be test of English comprehension. Questions will be asked from antonyms, synonyms, grammar, one word substitution, idioms & phrases, Passage, Cloze Test, Jumble Sentences etc.

General Knowledge :

Culture and Religion, Soil, Rivers, Mountains, Ports, Inland Harbours, Freedom Movement, Sports : championships/ Winners/ Terms/ No. of Players, Defence, Wars and Neighbours, Current Affairs, Important National Facts about India, Heritage and Arts, Dance, History, Languages, Capitals and Currencies, National : Bird/ Animal/ Sport/ Flower/ Anthem/ Song/ Flag/ Monuments, Eminent Personalities, Common Names, Full forms and Abbreviations, Discoveries, Diseases and Nutrition, Award and Authors.

Quantitative Aptitude:

Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Candidates need to be focus on Basics of Mathematics & Simplification.

Logical Reasoning:

The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested.

Arithmetics :

Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

Measurement of Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test (Qualifying)

The candidates must have the minimum Physical standard of height, weight and chest as follows:

Driving Test (Optional)

Allotted Marks: 05 marks for Heavy Motor Vehicle and 03 marks for Light Motor Vehicle

The test shall be conducted only for those candidates, who claim in their applications that they are proficient in driving and possess a valid Light or Heavy Vehicle Driving license for the last Six Months (excluding learning period) or more from the date of advertisement of vacancies and who have qualified in Written Examination, Physical Standard and Physical Efficiency Test will be called for Driving Test.

Medical Examination

Medical test by a Medical Board may be conducted at any stage of recruitment process as scheduled by the Board. Following shall be the specifications for Medical examination.

The Candidates must not have knock knee, bow legs, flat foot, varicose veins, squint in eyes, poor vision, colour blindness, inability to flex the fingers properly and any other obvious deformities. He should have no impediment in speech and hearing.

Marks for NCC Certificate:

These marks shall be awarded after due verification of original certificates as below:

• NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 01 Marks
• NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 02 Marks

Final Selection:

Following the Physical Efficiency Test, a common Merit List shall be prepared basing on the sum total of marks secured by the candidate in the Computer Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE), Driving Test and weightage marks in NCC certificate
