Age Limit :
No person shall be appointed to any post in the Service by direct appoint mentor by transfer, in case he is more than forty years of age in the case of Assistant Professor, forty five years of age in the case of Associate Professor and fifty years of age in the case of Professor:Provided that the Government, may in special circumstances to be recorded in writing, relax the upper age limit.

Education Qualification :
Eligibility criteria i.e. Education qualifications and teaching experience etc. is as prescribed in the Punjab Medical Education (Group —A) Service Rules, 2016 and amendment vide Notification No.G.S.R.- 53/Const./Art.309/Amd(1)/2020 dated 07.08.2020 and amendment vide Notification No. No.G.S.R.-01/Corst./Art.’309/Amd(2)/2021 dated 8.1.2021 available on the website www.puniabmedicaleducation.orq.
Knowledge of Punjabi language-
No person appointed to any post in the Service by direct appointment shall be retained in the Service, unless he has passed an examination of Punjabi language equivalent to Matriculation standard within a period of three years from the date of his appointment to the Service.
