About Recruitment :
Indian Railways has recently Invited the male & female candidates for the recruitment of Constable (Ancillary) in Different Trades for the Vacancies in Railway Protection Force (RPF) for Various Zones of Indian Railways & Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). All the Eligible Candidates Filled the Online Application Form for these Posts. The Process of Application Submission is Started From the Date 01.01.2019 & End on the Date 30.01.2019.
About Exam:
All the Eligible Candidates Will be Called for the Computer Based Test in the Month of Feb – Mar 2019. The Exact Date & Exam Schedule Will be Provided Separately on the Official Website of RPF.
Selection Process:-
- Phase – I Computer Based Test,
- Phase – II Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT),
- Phase – III Trade Test
- Phase – IV Document Verification
Computer Based Test (CBT)
Exam Pattern : RPF Constable Exam Pattern shall be as follows :
- The Exam Will be Computer Based Test (CBT).
- The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
- There will be 60 Questions/ Marks. Each Question Will be of 01 Mark.
- The question paper will consist of General Awareness (20 Marks), Arithmetic (20 Marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Marks).
- The time duration will be 45 minutes.
- There Will be a Negative Marking of 1/3 Marks.
- The Standard of Examination Will be 10th/ Matric Level.
Note : “It Will be Necessary to obtain at least 35% Marks (30% in the case of SC and ST candidates) to Qualify in CBT.
Exam Syllabus :- Syllabus of written test is as follows :
General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society; to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observations and experiences as maybe expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science etc.
Arithmetic: Questions on Number systems, whole numbers, decimal and fractions and relationship between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of table and graphs, mensuration, time and distances, ratio and proportion etc.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Questions on analogies, similarities and difference, spatial visualization, special orientation, problem solving analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
All Candidates Qualifying CBT Will be Called for PET & PMT. PET/PMT is qualifying in nature. No marks are to be awarded.

- For 800 meters event only one chance will be given. For the Remaining events viz Long Jump & High Jump, the candidates will be given upto 2 chances each.
- Ex-Serviceman shall be exempted from PET. However, they will have to undergo PMT.

Trade Test (TT)
| Trade | Tests |
| Water Carrier | (a) Washing & Cleaning of vessels (b) keading of Atta and making Chapatis, Cutting of vegetables, and (c) Any one of the Following Cooking: Rice/Vegetable/Dal/Sambhar/Meat/Fish/Kheer. |
| Sweeper | Cleaning of septic tank, Sweeping Cleaning of toilets, Cleaning of Bathrooms, Mopping floor, etc. |
| Washer Man | Washing, Folding & Ironing of Clothes. |
| Barber | Handing of Tools, Hair Cutting & Shaving |
| Mali | Any Two of the Following: (i) Transplantation (ii) Making Graft, (iii)Maintenance of Plants, knowledge of seeds and their sowing season, fertilizers and indigenous manures. |
| Tailor | Any Two of the Following: (i) Taking Measurement and stitching of Shorts (ii) Capability to carry out minor repairs, maintenance & trouble shooting of sewing machine (iii) Knowledge of tools/machines used in cutting, tailoring etc. |
| Cobbler | Knowledge of shoe repair, shoe polishing, punching neat holes in leather. |
