Exam Pattern : The Written Exam Pattern will be as Follows:
- The Exam Will be Written Objective Type.
- The written test (objective type) will be bilingual i.e. English & Hindi.
- The Exam will Consist 150 Marks/ Question.
- The Time Duration for the Exam Will be 2 Hours (20 Minutes extra for visually handicapped candidates).
- The standard of questions will be of matriculation/ Intermediate/ graduation as applicable.

Physical Endurance Test
Fireman :
(a) Run – 1.6 Km in 6 min
(b) Carrying a man of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds
(c) Clearing 2.7 Mtrs wide ditch & landing on both feet (long jump)
(d) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet
Tradesman Mate :
(a) Run – 1.5 Km in 6 min
(b) Carrying a man of 50 Kgs to a distance of 200 meters within 100 seconds
Typing Test
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) : Typing Proficiency (English typing @35 words per minute on computer or Hindi typing @30 words per minute corresponding to 10500/9000 key depression per hour (KDPH) on an average of 5 key depressions for each word.
Syllabus : The Exam Syllabus will be as Follows.
General Intelligence and Reasoning : Questions will be from topics- Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space visualization, Problem solving, Analysis and Judgment, Decision-making, Visual memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship, Concepts, Arithmetical reasoning, Verbal and figure classification, Arithmetical number series, Abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, Arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.
Numerical Aptitude : The test of Numerical Aptitude will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
General English : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.
General Awareness : Questions are designed to test the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
