Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will recruit Excise Constable (Abkari Sipahi). The selection criteria of this recruitment is discussed here under :
SELECTION PROCESS : Selection of Excise Constable will be purely based on merit of total 80 marks. It will contain two stages i.e. physical test (60 marks) and interview (20 marks) for selection. In First Phase a Screening Test will be conducted. Screening Written Exam will be of 90 Marks. Marks of Written Exam will not be considered for Final Selection. In Second Phase Race, Long Jump & Cricket Ball Throw will be conducted. Under the Third Phase Interview will be conducted.
Screening Test Pattern :
Written Exam : Exam Pattern for the Excise Constable Screening written Exam is as Follows :-
→ The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
→ Time duration for written test will be 01 Hour 30 Minutes (90 minutes).
→ Written Exam will be of Total 90 Marks comprised of 90 Questions.

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Excise Constable Screening written Exam is given below :-
Hindi Insight & Writing Ability : The questions will be asked from the candidates to test their knowledge of Hindi Language and comprehension and writing ability.
General Intelligence Test : The purpose of this is the ability to test the candidate’s understanding of a new situation, analyze and identify its various elements. Questions in this test will be based on the Understanding and explore instructions, relationships, similarities, consistent, conclusions and actions etc.
NOTE :- Questions may ask from the following Topics : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.
General Knowledge : This part of question paper is to assess the candidates’ ability regarding general knowledge about his/her surroundings and about its use in society. In this test such a question which will be kept to check current events and everyday science and the facts of experience which may include historical and geographical facts. (Specially Related to India) and judged them to the knowledge of the scientific aspects, which can be expected of any educated person.
NOTE:- Question will be asked from Indian History, Indian Polity, Current Events, Geography, Economy etc. Focus will be on Current national & International events, banking, sports etc.
Physical Standard Test
Candidates found eligible for Physical Test will be called for physical measurements. Minimum requirements of physical standard is given below :
Male (all) – 167.6 cms
Female (Gen) – 152 cms
Female (SC/ST) 147 cms
Male – 80 to 85 cms
Female – 45 KGs
Physical Efficiency Test
There will be a physical test for eligible candidates which contains various activities i.e. race, long jump and cricket ball throw for both male and female. Marks will be awarded to the candidates out of 60 (20 for each) as per the following scale :
Male- 4.8 KMs
Female- 200 mtrs

|Cricket Ball Throw||61 meters
Interview :- An interview (viva-voce) shall be conducted for those candidates who have successfully clear the first stage (physical test). The interview will be of total 20 marks.
